Hey candlemonk family, I hope you all are doing good. i am here again with my another blog which is about a story of the snake and the mirror which is about our self realisation which is the expression used by anyone. this story is about a doctor who is struggling with his poverty. But he was so proud of his looks and his personality. this story is about the self-realisation.

So here is the story, once a doctor who had recently started his practice and didn't have good sources of earning as he liven in a rented room with no special luxury, comfort or facility. The room was full of insects as well as rats etc. But he got used to such type of issues. 

One day, he was having his meal after that he went to his room to sleep, he was about to sleep he heard a sound. but he was so friendly to that sound because there were many insects in his room so he didn't noticed anything and he was familiar to such type of sounds. He then went outside to have some fresh air but he didn't find any then he came back to his room. He took a book for reading then he felt attracted towards his face in the mirror. He was full of self admiration when he looked at his face in the mirror. he started talking to himself that he should also start to work for his looks too so that he could look more handsome. He was so proud of his looks that he started thinking that he should a marry a fat women from his profession. so that she won't be able to look more beatiful than him and if he made some mistake she wont be able to catch her. With this thought in his mind, he was about to cast another look he again heard a sound, as if something has fallen. But before he could turn around to have a look, a snake slithered over the back of the chair and perched itself on his shoulder. 

The doctor was so frightened as the snake was few inches away from his face. Then doctor started thinking about the medicines which he can use after a snake bite. but even he was a doctor he didn't have any medicine of a snake bite. he was looking so stupid and praying to god that he could save himself from biting also few moments ago, he was so proud of his looks and his profession but now he was so weak. Then the snake turned and saw his reflection in the mirror. Soon, it released the doctor's neck and moved to the table. It kept looking in the mirror as if admiring its appearance then doctor got a chance and he ran away from his room.

This story conveys a message that one should never be proud of his beauty, looks, strength or achievements. the fear of death is the biggest realisation.

It is important to recongnise your weakness or mistakes but not to be indulge in self admiration.
