Hey guys, Welcome to my blog. i hope you are having a good time and doing great in your lives. As you all know that today is the 2nd day of navratre. in my previous i already told you the story of devi sati and which goddess is worshipped on the very first day of the navratre. So in this blog i will talk about the 2nd day of navratri.
As you know that navratre is the festival of goddess Amba her nine incarnation worshipped on each of the nine days of the festival. Here we go with my today's point, On the 2nd day of navratri Maa bhramacharini is worshipped. the festival of nine days marks the battle between the good and the evil. This is the One of the nine roop of goddess. in this avatar, She is called as Maa brhamacharini in which brhama means tapa and charini means a female follower.
As in my previous i wrote about Devi sati that she immolated herself in the yagna. after that she was born as the daughter of king of mountains, Himalaya.
When parvati grew up, saga Nrada the son of bhrama, visit her. He told her that she have a chance to marry her husband from her previous birth, Lord shiva if she followed the path of penance. Determined to marry shiva, she started to follow the path of penance, which was extremely difficult. She only ate fruits and flowers for thousand of years. she also ate only vegetables for hundred of years, followed by eating only fallen leaves for thousand of years. she slept on the floor of the forest under the open sky in order to complete her tapa. by which she was known as Tapacharini or Bhramcharini which means who follows the path of tapa. Due to this thousand years of tapa, her body becomes so weak. her mother was in so pain by seeing her daughter in such a situation. Thus, this news of such penance and tapa reached everwhere. Then Lord bhrama appeared in front of her and told her that no one can do the tapa as she does. because her love for shiva was true and pure. He also blessed her that she would have lord shiva as her husband in this birth.
Following her penance, she was known as Maa bhramacharini. Later, Lord shiva accepted her as as his wife.
So that's why as Maa bhramachaini, She is worshipped on the 2nd day of navratre. so that she provides them with strength and power to observe the nine days fast, without taking any food and sometimes also without water…..
To be continued….
it seems to be very interesting for me to write about navratri and literally i m enjoying this. I hope you guys are having fun reading my blogs.
