“Nostalgic feel", perceived as i started penning this down, from inside the heart's most subtle split second. “ huh, early age days were the best, no matter how many special occasions take place”.
Teachers plug it hard into our brains, 15th august 1947 is the day of independence, not only on that day but everyday to make us understand how important it is, how hard the freedom fighters like mahatma Gandiji, subhash chandrabose.. stuggled.
while i was young, that was on independence day, whole school was busy preparing for the celebrations that has be to taken place, i was called by one of my teachers to help her with some stuff, most exciting childhood enthusiam, i went and was like wandering around as though i was planning the whole thing.
Celebration used to start off with the hoisting of the tricolor flag; proud moment for all the Indians, a tribute for all the freedom fighters, saluted with huge due respect, sang the National Anthem, “ Jana gana mana…”, NCC officials of the school march past steps through a clear way down, literally everyone's patriotism decieved.
Event took the next phase, with a traditional and patriotic stage performance by the dancers in the high school. Later, the choir group accustomed regional songs with melody. Followed by the tedious speech of the principal and the additional chief guests on the side, almost similar addressing from past several years, even still counting goosebumps when so ever we heard it. Mean while, some of them used to faint off resulting from the extra heat of the sun, were taken out from the ground.
Now, the most exciting moment of the day starts with no classes and full of fun activities. sweets, chocolates and biscuits were accustomed to distribute by the teachers, were not allowed disclose them till the break, but galloped them all halfway; child nature, while the teacher has her eyes off us, later on competitions like drawing, essay writing, pen and paper and some stand up comedy by my fellow students.
One most exhilarated thing; the half day. Rushed homes during noon fatigued though, in the wake of enjoying all the events that ensued the whole cheerful day.
Tell me your experiences too. How well did you enjoy and had fun during your chidhood. Do you like those days? I used to, a lot. Do read my previous blogs, if you love this.
