In modern days, we need to be very careful in securing our laptop as we have a lot of external threats to our laptop, let us see some useful tips to protect them.

1. Add a Webcam Cover : Laptop is always built with a webcam, we need to close the webcam by covering it with a cover. Sometimes, we leave laptop unattended without locking our screen, at that time, incase if someone access our laptop webcam without our knowledge, this cover protects them from viewing it.
2. Encrypt Your Hard drive : Incase laptop undergoes some repair and if you give it to a shop for repair, they cannot crack your harddrive that easily and take files from it.
3. Set a Password : Don't allow everyone to access your laptop, always secure it with a password.
4. Backup your Data : We always have a way or other that we might get an laptop crash or hanging, there are chances that your data might be lost, it is always safe to backup your data.
5. Always update your Software : This will minimize the external threats as the older versions are subjected to threat. 
6. Set up a Location Finding : In case if we lost the laptop, we can always setup a Location Finding app and track the laptop.
7. Add an Antivirus : Most of us use pirated versions of antivirus, but it is always better to spend some cost on purchasing the proper version of Antivirus.
8. Add a Privacy Screen: This again prevents from being watched out.
9. Use a VPN : This will lessen the chances of being tracked of our activities to prevent being blackmailed or threatened.
10. Faster your Laptop with a Kensington Laptop Cable : Most of us might not have known about this term. It is a cable similar to the cycle lock that we use to lock our cycle. It minimizes the threaten of laptop being stolen.
11. Add a Password protected screen saver : Many of us use default screensavers, it is always safe to protect them with passwords.
12. Prevent Scratch by Adding laptop cover : Laptop cover is very important, as we might use them to prevent our laptop being scratched by our nails.
