Hi friends, hope you all are doing good. Thanks for the support. Let me get into the topic. I always like to begin with some incidents from history. I never expected that, today most of the middle class and lower class people  can access lifts. When I was kid, I would always admire about the lifts that are present in spencer plaza. My parents won't be taking me there. 

The main reason stated was everything in the mall will be costly, so for just using lift, we cannot go to the mall. They were very much keen, that their respect should not be lost by travelling to these places where lift is available. Then in early 2000's, there were some textile showrooms, which had lift, after knowing that the price range is affordable, parents took me to those shops and those were the first few instances, where lift was available. 

Slowly, apartments also implemented lifts in them and then it became common for most of the places nowadays. So, here am going to just highlight few of my observations about lift.

First thing is suppose, if I am considering a lift with 4 floors and Terrace option. We have total of 6 floors where the lift has to stop, because there is one more floor called ground floor. Suppose, if I am at the Terrace and it is picking up someone from 4th floor, and the 4th floor person wants to go to the ground floor, then I have to wait for the lift to travel 9 floors, that is the second longest wait. Of course, the longest wait is if someone travels from terrace to ground floor and again ground floor to terrace, in total it will be 10 floors of travel.

Suppose a person in 2nd floor wants to travel to the ground floor, but me standing the terrace pressed terrace button, then it will go to terrace and then only it goes to ground floor. It will always like to complete one direction of flow, either from top to bottom or bottom to top, provided on the quickness, whichever happens first, either the direction completion or the priority of the press button, whichever instruction reaches the lift first.

I really wanted to write a very long blog about this content, I used to be thinking about it, but easily forget it, May be next time, if I get a chance I will write more on it.
