Everyone here, would have played snake and ladder in your life atleast once. At some of stage of life, you would have definitely loved this game. As we all know, Snakes will push us down and ladders will take us closer to victory. Sometimes, we might climb a lot of ladders and reach almost the end, but at that time, still a snake might be nearby and many times we might have evaded and gained victory. But, still we might fear of dropping down because of that one snake.

So, corporate life is basically the same game. Here, our switches to other companies and promotions are like ladder, but here the good thing is promotion wont affect us much as there is always more chance of company retaining us, but switch to other companies is the main ladder. It is good to climb the ladder, but we should be very cautious. We should not be overjoyed, feeling that we are on top. We must always be ready to face the situations, some people are on the lower level and still get caught by snake, it is similar to the person, who works well but not updating the skills. That is also not the right scenario.

So, it is always good to move slowly and reach the target, rather than trying to earn more by climbing the ladder. There are many people who climbs all the ladders and emerged victorious but they are very less in number. The snakes are not only these switches, but the external factors that are affecting us like loans, EMI's, luxuries, stress, health issues, family problems and many more.

To be successful, we need to undergo this and emerge victorious, but we also need to be very careful. Many people wanted to settle in life so fast and had numerous switches, suddenly lose their job and find it very difficult to settle in some job with lower salaries. If the market demand is good, it is always advisable to switch companies and increase our salary. We must always be prepared for the worst. There are lot of good things in corporate that everyone knows, I am just writing here to bring out the disadvantages as well.
