Hello, wonderful people of Candlemonk. As you have already guessed this will be my first non-Subway related food blog. It is because first, I wanted to write something different and take a little break from Subway and second, the app continuously disallowed my subway blogs. So here I am sharing my journey of food.
First, let me clarify one thing, I have a bucket list of places I want to visit in my food journey and am lucky to have completed three of the places already. I will be uploading a whole different blog about the places I still haven’t visited. However, this is the blog about those three places so without wasting much time let’s dig into it
Location: Tulloch Rd, Behind Hotel Taj Mahal, Apollo Bandar, Colaba, Mumbai, Maharashtra
Bademiya was probably the first place that I added to my bucket list. For those who are not familiar with this place let me give you a brief note about this place. It was originally a food
cart famous for its tikkas and kebabs. Later on, due to it being so famous, they added another cart just for Vegetarian food. Big celebrities like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, etc have eaten here and it has featured in so many food channels. Bademiya is like a pioneer of tikkas in India. It has now become a restaurant but the taste remains the same. I went there and I just couldn’t hold my excitement and also had tears of happiness in my eyes as this place meant a lot to me as a food blogger and food enthusiast. I ordered 1)malai tikka(white tikka) 2)kebab and 3)butter chicken. Firstly I had never eaten such delicious in mouth-melting white tikka. The margination was just so perfectly done and it was cooked just perfect. The kebabs were pure art as they instantly melted when I put a piece in my mouth. Both were really mouth smacking and just that, I cannot forget that taste. The butter chicken was also really good but just its quantity was a little less. However, to date, it’s been two years since I last visited it but still, I haven’t found even a competition for their tikkas and kebabs.
Mumbai is a huge city with busy people and this city’s heart is Vada pav. Vada pav is mashed potato fritter with spices put inside Mumbai’s famous Ladi pav with chutney and green chilli served with chutneys. Gajanan is a stronghold for Vada pav and here the extraordinary thing is their yellow thick chutney. I had this Vada pav in 2018 with their flattened rice Samosa and the item was usual but what made them unique is that yellow chutney. It was tangy and was probably the best chutney I have ever eaten.
I am really lucky to be born in the same place where Raju omelette started. It just changed the whole scenario of how we eat eggs and how we see eggs. Their gravy is smooth and they make it in a huge amount of butter which the city instantly fell in love with. Their most famous egg item is egg burji, egg boil tikka and their special half fry. This place will always remain in my heart due to its history and of course taste
So this was the end of the blog. Stay tuned for future blogs
