Fat To Fit - How Long It Will Take

Hi guys, Its been a while. I have been travelling a lot. I know . I know you all must be thinking, hey! lockdown. But I stayed home for a long time and my job requires travelling.

So there is to what kept me up during most night while I was stuck at home.

I have been a healthy kid all my young age and most of my adulthood. My mom loves cooking good food and I like eating it. When I travelled to my college for Btech I was subjected to bad hostel food as most of us are aware of. I would skip meals and live on 2 am maggie for so long. Whenever I used to come back from home after a short or long stay my mother would pack me delicious pedukiya which would last more than two to three weeks easy. And for those two to three weeks my room in my entire hostel was a beacon to all hungry stomachs and midnight snacks. Sometime I would keep my hostel door open at night because my friends and their friends would come to my room and eat the delicious snacks.

Pedukiya, Bihari Snack

I have always had a sinosudial relation with my weight as my friends put it, I would be fit for 3 months of the year then I would slack off and gain weight for next 5 months and after 5 months I will start working hard to lose all the gained weight and I will be fit again in next 4 months.

When I went to The Netherlands for higher studies, I had to make my own food and believe me it was not easy. I remember for the first two weeks I would only make rice and dal. And my dal would have so much salt. It took my days correct the proper proportion. Staying out of India, forced me to be a cook and once I got the hang of it, I started loving it. I would make delicious cusines from Mediterranean to Greek and I excell in Muglai cuisines. My biryani is to die for.

Well, what I am trying to say is once I started making my own food it was easier for me to keep a check on my weight, and I would stay fit for a longer time than usual, because you see, fitness is not a journey it is a life style.

But all of this came crashing down when I was stuck at home during lockdown of COVID 19. I had little to no workout and I would make all kinds of cuisines. As a result I was seriously overweight. It was so bad that If I would stand for more than 20 mins my back would hurt.

I have been trying to eat healthy and clean and also incorporate a workout in my routine but it is taking so much time. Why is gaining weight easy but losing weight so difficult.?

I wish it would be easy, it might become easy once I start to see changes and result.

Till then keep grinding. Stay healthy. Stay Safe.
