Ok so I try to do this often and would like to share with you guys the same. Getting up even an hour earlier helps me get the rest of my morning routine done without feeling rushed.
Doing it consistently is the key. It accomplishes everything you have been wanting for.
If it’s summer waking up at 7am is not hard at all because the sun is already in full force. If it’s winter it is not easy to jump out of bed on a cold dark morning.
Here are some useful tips to get up early :
Don’t hit SNOOZE : I am a snooze girl , I admit it. I will also admit that all it does is make me more lazy and starts my day in a sluggish foot. I got suggestion from my loved one to implement this technique. 5-4-3-2-1 Jump out of bed!!!
Don’t check Social media right away : I think we all know this is the worst way to start our day. Many of us start our day with comparing ourselves with strangers in Internet. Why do we do it?? Is it social media addiction ? Need to please people ??? I don’t have answers for all these questions. All I know is that seeing what my friends does or neighbours does is not helping me to live my best life. So all this social media things or emails can wait. Don’t check it out soon after u wake up.
Make your bed: If I am honest I don’t struggle with this at all.( I used to ) . I religiously make my bed neatly every single morning. I have read this quote somewhere “ If you want to change the world , start by making your bed.” This one act helps me feel put together and accomplished first thing in the morning. In other words, pay attention to the smaller things , they are in fact the big things.
Meditate : Meditation has been a game changer in improving my mental health. The only problem I face is consistent routine. Personally I use Headspace app because it is a great resource . It also keeps track of the days you meditated. This way if you are a competitive person you will see how high you can get a streak !!!!
Drink water : My body craves for more water always . This one is easy for me. And also I know it is not easy for many people. If this is a challenge do what I say. Fill a jug of water the night before. When you wake up morning Pour a glass and down it right away. This is a type of personal challenge. Please try !!!
Read personal development books / journals : Do it before checking out social media. It is so important to fill up your own cup before diving into social media. I am currently reading Think like a Monk by Jay Shetty.
Light movement ( Yoga, stretch , walk etc) : It does feel good to warm up and move in the morning. Choose a lighter activity in the beginning. As soon as you start feeling used to it make it little more . Every small step counts.
Put yourself together ( Brush teeth, Wash face, Shower, Dress up etc) : During the times of pandemic , we have been grooving around in our homes and hiding from the world. Please consider some good habits like - Eat healthy , Plan your day, Breath-work, Get natural light, Play music)
Start your work with a smile :During this pandemic there are many who are striving for jobs. you have a job and you are working. Be grateful. Start your work with a positive attitude.
As I said before , i fail to be consistent at times but I make sure I get up the next day with the same hope of trying all this again. Everyone has their own struggles . Be motivated and just get up and try these out .It all depends on the zest. You will surely see the difference in your day. Hope you get inspired with this blog. Keep reading!!!!!
