Hello guys, welcome to my blog. Today I want to write about one of my favourite movies Kamali from Nadukkaveri. The story of this movie is unique with good direction. The actors and actresses did perfect justice to their given roles. The story gives a message to the youth that one should focus on their career goals instead of getting distracted by other things.

The story starts with Kamali Shanmugam from Nadukkaveri who is a naughty, free-spirited girl studying 12th class in Tamil medium and has no goals in life. She always annoys retired professor Arivudainambi with her actions on her way to home. Her father Shanmugam always believes that there is no use for girls pursuing higher studies. Kamali's brother Vishwa who used to study in a convent failed in the 12th board. This made Shanmugam think that education is a waste of time. So, he wants to marry her off after her schooling. 

One day, She sees an interview of a CBSE national topper Ashwin on TV who got selected for IIT Madras and gets inspired by him and falls in love with him. She too wants to join in IIT Madras to get closer to Ashwin and shares her goal with her best friend Valli. Kamali and Valli tries to find the best coaching center to crack the IIT exam but they fail. Kamali realizes that Arivudainambi can help her to achieve her dream and goes to his house seeking help, but he refuses her by considering her previous actions. Kamali tries to apologize to him. After several attempts, he took in her as a student and coaches her. Her father puts a condition that if she fails, she has to marry her relative. She studies hard and gets selected for IIT Madras. Her brother and Valli teases her about Ashwin.

Kamali now joined in IIT Madras and stays in hostel. Her roommate Nethra questions Kamali how she got seat in Computer Science. Since Kamali trusts her blindly she tells everything about her crush and how she studied hard for the entrance exam. After knowing this Nethra (her dream branch is Computer Science but she gets seat in Chemical Engineering) gets jealous of Kamali. Instead of focusing on her studies, Kamali follows Ashwin everywhere which results her failure in semester exams. when her college professor asked her to explain it, a student from the backbench shouts that she came to college to woo her crush. Everyone laughs at her. She became talk of the college and everyone starts calling her as “Cinderella”. Later, Kamali came to know that it was Nethra who created a rumor about her. Disheartened Kamali goes to a cafeteria in the campus and got mocked by Ashwin and his friends (they still don't know who the guy is). Devasted Kamali goes to her village. At first, she avoids everyone later she realizes her coach Arivudainambi and her parents trust on her and how she became the inspiration among the young girls in her village. Ashamed of her behavior, she promises herself not to get distracted again. She goes to college again. Her roommate apologizes to her. Now they became friends. Kamali is strongly determined to focus only on studies. She studies day and night and starts acing in exams.

After few days, Ashwin and Kamali gets selected for the inter-IIT National Competition. Kamali didn't want to participate with Ashwin but Nethra encourages her to partcipate. Kamali, Ashwin, and a college professor travel to Delhi. During the journey, Ashwin asks Kamali whether she is still in love with that guy. Kamali replies to him that guy is her inspiration. During breakfast, a guy named Varun from IIT Kanpur tries to flirt with Kamali and Ashwin warns her to stay away from Varun. During the competition, Kamali and Ashwin almost got disqualified but got saved due to another team's disqualification. Ashwin gets angry at Kamali. Varun is happy on seeing Kamali's sad face and tries to create a rift between her and Ashwin but fails. For the final round, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras gets selected. Host announces it is a faceoff round and teams have to choose their opponent. Ashwin selects Varun whereas Varun selects Kamali. It is shown that the quiz program is going on live on TV. Kamali's parents and her coach Arivudainambi with his students watching her on TV. Kamali answers the questions correctly and IIT Madras wins. Ashwin and the professor feel happy. Her family, coach, and everyone feel proud of her. During her speech, she talks about her coach and family and she thanks Ashwin for being her inspiration. Now Ashwin realizes he is that guy. On the return journey, Ashwin again asks her whether he is the guy Kamali is in love with, for which she replies “May be” and the film ends.
