Depression is a very serious term to use in reference to any person but nowadays this word is used very often. This deceased has taken a spot in people's primary health graph. As written in so many news columns, people are committing suicide and ruining their life in addiction. It's sad to say that they are not just random news but our new generation is trapped  into depression.

What could be the reason that 3 out of 10 children are suffering depression ? and many who do not know yet what is wrong with them?

after observation in surroundings I have derived few reasons for increasing cases of depression which lies in childhood of youth

  • Both working Parents: Now if you observe in India too , both husband and wife work for living so children do not get enough attention. I'm not saying they do not take good care of their child but they do not give him enough time, hence his craving for attention and love remains unsatisfied. Many children feel unwanted due to this, many feel lonely and lifeless. In child's growing years developing right kind of energy is very important but many children now stay in daycare or with grandparents it becomes hard journey for them because they felt unheard
  • Lifestyle : The new urban lifestyle is a very big issue, starting from a fast and working lifestyle to junk food and hijacked by technology. Children do not get enough growth factors. Junk food not only deprives a child from nutrition but also gives him obesity, laziness and unnecessary hunger for taste. Later on these habits give him weight problems and health issues and it leads to depression.
  • Technology/gadgets: working parents or any young parents give mobile phones to children, gaming machines to them, play stores so that the child stays occupied but this gaming practice makes the child lifeless. It keeps him busy in the virtual world and he forgets and lacks knowledge and practice from real life.If children do not go out for ground games or do not make friends how he will learn life skills, people skills, how he will learn to manage emotions and communications. later on when the child grows up he could not manage in the real world hence he gets depression. In many cases game syndrome gives winning stubbornness in children, especially in boys. Then they apply the same rule in life, they can't digest rejections, losing or failing.
  • Privileges :  Many urban families are higher middle class or high class people. They provide everything to their children with obviously good intention and love. They fulfill all his demands and needs. Even pampers extra sometimes. This things makes life for children easy but once he grows up and faces life independently he has to make some adjustments, he has to cope up with difficulties at school, college or workplace. since he has not seen any hardships he fails to cope up and gets depressed
  • Expectations: In the world of Social media and highly engaging social culture parents burdens their children with high hopes.Parents want children to fulfill their dreams. It pressurizes children to always do well in life. Child feels anxiety, frustration and stress at a very young age. He lives in fear of not living up to expectations and sometimes it gives him complexities and he might suffer confidence issues always.
  • Peer Pressure : Again technology and social media plays a devil role as it has ruined many children's lives. Social media has created an unnecessary culture of being presentable, likable , show off and competitive world among teenagers. They constantly live under pressure of being cool , engaged or popular. People who do not cope up with social media feel left out. Sometimes in real groups introverted people who can not communicate well are being bullied and these things develop feelings of not worthy, not loved or unwanted. This issues leads to depression and sometimes to suicide or crime too.

This are some major points which leads child to depression in young age. taking good care of any child in his growing years important. However technology has captured us in its trap. It's important to introduce children to real life in growing years  and most importantly giving time to loved ones. That solves most of mental health issues. Love is basic need of human being always remember that.
