This recepie (Parwal Curry) is one of the simplest curry which you can make any time, any day. This vegetable is also known as Parwal, Potol, Pointed Gourd. Parwal Curry goes well with roti and rice. Parwal is preety famous vegetable in my state. My mom cooks Parwal Curry in the simplest and easiest way and today I will be sharing this recepie with you guys. This recepie is simple and quick to make, it takes less than one hour to get prepared. Parwal has its unique taste and it contains seeds, if you don't like Parwal seed then you can remove the Parwal seed while chooping the Parwal.
Ingredients we need:-
1)4 Parwal/Potol
2)1 Potato
3)1 Tomato
4)1 Onion
5)2 Papad
6)2 Green Chilly
7)1 Spoon Jeera Powder
8)4-5 Garlic flakes
9)Ginger small piece
10)Haldhi
11)Salt
Steps:-
Step1:-
Wash and dry all the vegetables.
Step 2:-
Take Parwal and scratch it little with the help of knife, Don't peel it off.
Step 3:-
Chopped Potato, Tomato, Onion and Parwal.
Step 4:-
-Take a pan
-Add oil to it.
-Heat cooking oil
-Add chopped Potato and Fry.
-Take the Potatoes out of the oil.
-Add chopped Parwal and Fry.
-Take the Parwal out of the oil.
Step 5:-
-Heat 1spoon oil.
-Add chopped Onion and Tomato and fry.
-Add Garlic paste and Ginger paste, Haldhi, Jeera Powder, Green Chilly.
-Fry for 2 minutes.
-Add water and cover, Let it boil.
Step 6:-
-Add already fried Potato and Parwal.
-Rost Papad and crush.
-Add crushed Papad in curry.
-Cook for 6minutes.
Delicious Parwal Curry is ready, Serve with Roti, You can also have Pawral Curry with rice.
About Parwal/Potol/Pointed Gourd:-
-Parwal belongs to Gourd family.
-It grows in hot warm climate.
-It size varies from 5cm to 15 cm.
-It has a pointed shape in the sides and bulge in the center.
-For cooking we have to scratch the Parwal with the help of knife and cut the edges.
-Parwal pairs best with Potato, Tomato, Onion, Ginger, Turmeric, Red Chilly Powder, Cumin, Garam Masala, Mustard seeds, Peanut, Fennal seeds, Corianders, Cilantro, Coconut Milk.
-This Gourd can also be pickled with Vineger with an assorment of herbs and spices.
-This Gourd is mostly used for making Curry, stir-fries with other seasonable vegetables.
-Parwal will keep up upto one week if kept in refrigerator.
