Long gone are the days when positive thinking was dismissed as being simplistic and a way of hiding from reality.
If you struggle with a feeling of emptiness, or lack of self-worth, it is unlikely that you are going to have a positive mindset. In fact, the opposite is true.
If you find yourself without purpose or meaning in life and find yourself filling every waking moment with tasks and planning for the future, then you will likely have a negative mindset.
If you don’t love yourself, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to love anyone else. Psychological research has shown that self-love is crucial to success. If you don’t love yourself, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to love anyone else. Why? Because self-love fosters compassion, encourages altruism, and leads to a willingness to sacrifice for others.
I’ve been researching and studying positive psychology for close to a decade. One of the more surprising findings in all that work is that positive people are more successful than negative people.
When I study positive people, I find that it’s not at all that they’re so lucky to be positive, rather they’re busy thinking about all the good things that are happening.
It’s not about being positive for its own sake, rather it’s about being positive for its own purpose. Positive thinking is a strategy for success, and it’s based on three principles: The Power of Positivity When you wake up every day and put a smile on your face, the world reflects your positivity. It’s a free and universal magnet for good things.
When you find yourself in a sticky situation, it helps to know what’s worrying you. Take an honest inventory of your fears and ask yourself what you can do to address them.
For example, if you’re prone to road rage, you could acknowledge that you are much more likely to lose it if you’re late for an appointment than if you make it on time. Principle 3B. Confront the Issue Another effective strategy is to express your anxiety so that others are aware of it.
You may have only to tell your spouse that you’re feeling frustrated and anxious about a particular situation. This allows him or her to also feel a sense of emotional connection with you, thereby easing your burden. Principle 3C. Become Calm In order to conquer your fears, you’ll need to overcome their source. What’s causing them?
Nothing will ever come to you in life if you don't want it to come. The only thing we truly control is the action we take with what we have now. A happy, positive life is well worth all your efforts and it will pay you back many times over.
The only thing that you have to do in order to live this type of life changes your mindset from negative to positive. Think about it, if you want something bad enough, all the noise and negative thoughts in your head will disappear and you will be able to see things for what they really are.
No more illusions, nothing will get in your way anymore. You are going to have a positive mindset and you will succeed!
