Their was an event in 1929 due to this there was a big sensation in education community. people started visiting Chicago from every corner of America to visit that incident. what actually happened that their was a boy who first started working as a waiter then as a wood cutter, then became salesman in a dryclean shop and finally became the president of top most university and he was just 36 years old, name of that boy was robert huchkins, old professors started feeling jealous about him so they were backbitching and started criticing & defaming him. How was that possible that an inexperienced boy became president?? Many criticizing articles also published in the renowned newspapers about him. one day friend of Robert asked Robert's father that he was reading newspapers and he felt really bad after reading articles about Robert. Then he asked Robert's father that Dont you feel bad after reading articles against your son then Richard father replied by saying “ No one kicks a dead dog” that means people insult to those who are famous, people will only talk about you if you are famous. If you have not done anything in your life then nobody is going to talk about you. so the point is if some one is disparaging you or defaming you then that means they experience feeling of importance because they accept that you have done something great so due to this you should get importace so moral of the story is if someone defaming you then don't overthink.
There was a man who always think that his step sons never appreciated him, he used to work very hard in a box manufacturing company and he also married to a widow lady and he also took loan to educate the two children of that widow and he worked so hard like a coolie so as to complete their demands. In these 4 years he never complaint but in these 4 years his wife and stepsons never said a single thanks to him in return. whose fault it was? actually it is human tendency to forget the favours see the negative side only so you must believe in giving, in this way you can stop Overthinking.
