with each family tree having a handsome male elephant, pretty female elephants, and charming little ones, and with whole, they make up a prepossessing family. Whenever we go to the temple, we bring our heads down first towards lord Ganesha, and we know that Ganesha is elephant-headed and also he is the remover of obstacles, likewise elephants are the most important species on this Earth as they maintain the ecological balance. However, we are not treating it properly, as we are seeing the elephant only for our benefit to make money with its body parts. On one side we see it with devoutness, then why do we see the other side as avaricious??
Elephants share a close association with humans and they are
the cultural icons of the world but still we are losing the species day by day. On the other side of the picture, we are looting their places for our needs, and in turn, the elephants started coming to our homes in order to survive. In ancient times they thought of us as a family, but now we seem life-threatening to them. They share a positive influence on the growth of numerous plants and animal species. And the most significant feature of the elephant is, its trunk, as it is used for lifting, feeding, drinking, touching, smelling, spraying water, and producing sounds moreover the trunk is the biggest resource for the elephant. It also has big ears which keep them cool by flapping. And I think we became so jealous of its advantages, that we started killing them. We may be different from them, yet they also share the same space on this Earth, therefore why do we hurt them as we would eventually face karma.
The tusks seem to destroy the population since a lot of hunters are behind their ivory nature. Elephants don’t forget easily, due to their high memory power compared to humans; likewise, let’s join hands to not make our future generations forget about the Elephants. There are a lot of days and celebrations in a year in the name of
conservation and we do take a lot of oaths, but still, we are not moving forward with it, as there is a knock behind us to take up all the resources greedily. There are a lot of governments, non-government organizations, associations, social- activists, and many more who are fighting for the protection of our amazing resources. And they are not asking to lend money, yet they are asking to stop all the illegal activities done against the resources. The Elephants are not out of the box in it, as day by day the populations are decreasing, and in this pandemic, we understood the meaning of quarantine, and we knew how an animal suffers in
a four-walled cage.
So lets at least wake up this time and stop ourselves from running
behind the tusks, skin and etc. We may think that time has gone by and the elephant population has gotten lower, but still, it’s not too late to conserve the Elephants. Let’s join together to make a big ultimate family of Elephants on Earth. And let this oath survive till the end, and the affection and emotions that we have for the Elephants will make scents of awareness around each and every people.
