Our Lord Krishna came to us when ever we asked for his help with a pure heart. He solved our complex problems, and always came as a saviour. In Mahabharata when Arjuna on seeing before him grandfather Bhishma, guru Dronacharya, and all the other close relations in the battlefield in front of him, he was moved and decided not to fight and sought Krishna's help. Now motivation of the philosophical yoga guru was such that, He addressed Arjuna as a Kshatriya karma yogi, who should only do the action sticking the side of Dharma and not be puzzled by the result of it. Krishna as the supreme embodiment of knowledge, virtue, omnipotence, took the form of Vishwaroopa Narayana. When Arjun's mind saw nothing but the centre of the target, and he took up the Gundive to fight. This was only a motivation because here Krishna had promised not to touch the weapons in the Kurukshetra.
But when it was his turn to save the earth of demon like the Kansh who imprisoned his own mother Devaki and his father Vasudev and many tortures, he and his brother Balaram did the rightful in a arena where a combat was arranged in their offer. Again when Draupadi in Kaurav shabha was facing a humiliation and incident of disrobing as the Pandavas' queen, by Durshashana , when nobody , Pandavas the five husbands, all the elders in the shabha, no one came to the reccue. Here Duryodhana thought that the game of dice made everything in his control and all ought to follow his orders. Krishna saw the helpless and needy Draupadi he supplied the queen's vastra in a super natural fashion from his palm. Where the cloth went on unfolding till a huge heap of cloth piled up to the despair and end of spirit of Durshashana who stood all fatigue in vain, and Draupadi with her hands joined bowing before the Saviour Krishna. He protected the dharma, the virtuous and the truth, and punished the adharma, the hypocrite, and the falsification.
Now the Idol Shiva Shankara. He is always in transcendental meditating posture. When his third eye, the mind's eye is wide open, and notices all extra worldly features very clear. So he can watch the whole land from Kailasha itself. When the world needed, he drank the bitter poison from samudra manthana to save the creation from destruction, and became nill khantha. In the tandava when with the sati on his shoulder Shiva danced the universe till annihilation, Vishnu with sudarshana torn off sati's body to 51 pieces, when Shiva realised that the body is transformed and thus a phase has elapsed when sati lies in those 51 places. He gradually decreased his tandava. Goes to those 51 places to regain sati from those places. Each point is a sati peeth, in our Bharata. Here again Shiva established the worship of goddess sati in his lila when he searched sati in the whole universe to find sati. Ultimately sati's peeth's were placed all over the land, now worshipped as Maha Kali mandirs, and sati peeths.
Shiva gives boons to all his devotees in a simple way without judging their ultimate intention. Thus sometimes left with stopping their way from destroying the world, with the boon he already bestowed on them. Ultimately with the help of other Gods and Goddesses he succeeds in controlling the sinner. Shiva remains a tranquil meditating figure who knows no boundaries of existence, he remains spread the whole universe and in rhythms.
