Hey friends!!! This blog is the second part of The King of Cocaine Pablo Escobar… If you didn't read my first part, check it here….

Continued……

The King Of The Jungle

About 200 animals, including elephants, ostriches, zebras, camels, and giraffes, lived in Escobar's private zoo. Several of the animals were brought into the nation illegally using Escobar's drug-carrying aircraft. The majority of the creatures were moved to zoos after his death in 1993.

Four hippopotamuses, though, remained behind. They quickly proliferated, and by 2016, there were more than 40 of them residing there. The potentially harmful creatures have harmed farms and made the inhabitants afraid. Castrating male hippos was initiated by authorities as a means of managing the population.

Robin Hood

Perhaps in an attempt to gain the favor of regular Colombians, Escobar gained notoriety for his charitable endeavors, earning him the nickname Robin Hood. He constructed stadiums, hospitals, and low-income housing. He even funded soccer teams in the area.

His election to an alternate seat in the Colombian Congress in 1982 was evidence of the widespread esteem with which he is held by the people of that country. Unfortunately, he was forced to retire two years later following a campaign to reveal his illicit activities. The initiatives were spearheaded by the slain justice minister.

"Plata o Plomo"

"Plata o plomo" refers to Escobar's method of problem-solving, which means "silver" (bribes) or "lead" (bullets). Even if he favored the former, he was willing to choose the latter course and gained a reputation for being brutal.

He is said to have killed some 4,000 individuals, many of them government and police officials. The cartel was held accountable in 1989 for setting off a bomb on a plane carrying a purported informant. Approximately one hundred people died.

La Catedral

When Escobar was given permission to construct his own prison, he promised in 1991 to turn himself in to the authorities. Unexpectedly, or maybe not, Colombian authorities agreed. The luxurious La Catedral was the final result.

The facility offered telephones, computers, and fax machines in addition to a nightclub, sauna, waterfall, and soccer field. However, authorities chose to transfer Escobar to a less hospitable prison after he killed and tortured two cartel members at La Catedral. But in July 1992, Escobar made his getaway before he could be moved. And so we arrive at...

The Monarch Has Died

After his escape, the Colombian government initiated a huge manhunt, with the alleged assistance of U.S. officials and rival drug traffickers. Escobar reportedly celebrated his 44th birthday on December 1, 1993, with cake, wine, and marijuana. His hiding in Medellín was found out the next day.

Escobar and a bodyguard made it to the roof as Colombian forces attacked the building. Following a chase and gunfire, Escobar was shot and died.

On the other hand, some have theorized that Escobar committed suicide. The drug kingpin has previously declared that he "would rather have a grave in Colombia than a jail cell in the U.S." If he was apprehended, he might be extradited to the United States.
