Hello everyone🙂 welcome back to my new blog. Hope all doing good and I hope any miracles of good news happens for all of us. So we don't want to step back from this , let us keep sharing our thoughts and information in this candle monk website.

And now coming on to today's topic ,I would like to share about the seven wonders of the modern world………

The American society of civil engineers, with the help of experts from around the world, chose seven monumental structures to be the seven wonders of the modern world. They are….

  •  The Empire state Building
  • The Itaipu Dam
  • The CN Tower
  • The Panama canal
  • The Channel Tunnel
  • The North Sea Protection works
  • The Golden Gate Bridge

The original wonders where amazing sites to behold but today's modern wonders are more than simply awe  inspiring.  They are functional operational masterpieces that have revolutionised civil engineering and benefited humanity. The seven wonders of the modern world are a tribute to Universal human Desire to Triumph Over the Impossible, said Charles A parthum,  president, ASCE, 1996. To be considered a modern wonder ,projects must have been completed and be fully operational. The 21st century will see the completion of several spectacular projects in Asia and it is likely that the list will then be revised.

THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

For 41 years since it's inauguration on May 1st 1931 the Empire State Building was the tallest skyscrapers, in the world. Though  it was later surpassed by other skyscrapers it remind the model on which all others where based. It stands 1,250 feet high with 102 floors. In 1952, a broadcast antenna was added taking the buildings total height to 1,472 feet.

THE ITAIPU DAM

Built across the Parana River on the Brazil Paraguay border, The Itaipu  Dam is a Marvel of modern engineering. It was 16 years in the making 1975  -1991 and thousands of labourers toiled to shift the course of the world's 7th largest river. More than 50 million tones of Rock and Earth where removed. The powerhouse of the Dam consists of 18 units that churn out 12,600 megawatt's a day. In a year, this adds  up to a whooping 75 million Mega watts.

THE CN TOWER

Built in 1976 by Canadian national CN Tower is the world's tallest free standing structure at a height of 1,815 feet. Besides being a telecommunication hub 16 media signals are transmitted from the tower. It is also a tourist spot. It's observation decks  provide an unparalled view of the city.
