Description: Here is the story of my 6 day trip to Meghalaya. I always had a longer to experience every place that i read about in my geography textbooks. In this blog im gonna share my experiences and views.
My Trip To Meghalaya: It is a land with green valleys, waterfalls, root bridges and cleanest village in Asia named Mawlynnong.
Meaning Of The Meghalaya: Meghalaya means “”above the clouds"" in sanskrit language.
Day1: Shillong is about 4 hrs from Guwahathi, the long road way ride gave us ultimate enjoyment. In the mid way we have also visited umiam lake the view point with drizzling rain felt jovial. Finally we reached Shillong on that evening and stayed at a hotel
Day2: We started from the hotel and we hire a taxi on the mid way our eyes caught on tea garden and then we have seen a view point with Fogg. And then we have visited to "A Living Root Bridge"formed by roots across a stream which allow the roots to grow and strengthen. And went to cherrapunjee seen seven sisters waterfalls there u can see continuous drizzling climate.
Day3: We went to "Mawlynnong" the cleanest village in Asia. Its an awful village we can see Bangladesh border.Breath taking views pictures speak more than words .And then went to krang suri with water is blue ,green lush trees.
Day4: we take off for Dawki the best part of Meghalaya are road trips, the weather is pleasant.Dawki river is the hidden gem we did boating it's about 90 mins drive we can view complete village in 2 hrs,it's really a beautiful experience.Dawki bridge divides the India and Bangladesh.
Day5: We went to Nohkilikai falls and next Weis saw dong waterfall fabulous place that everyone should visit. And then we went to elephant waterfalls it's really amazed me that it use to be in the shape on elephant but due to earthquake it was destroyed.
Day6: we went to the yellow green grassland you can sit and enjoy the cold breeze...And then at last we went to police bazaar the place is crowded with the tourists and locals...there we found pork tandoori, local fruits etc.
Summing-up: Meghalaya merged us with good quality of the air, clean road way trips, food, waterfalls and the hospitality ….. There the sun sets are at 4:30 pm and it gets dark by 5:30 pm.
Writing this blog was a pleasure as throughout the trip we made many so many unforgettable memories, soaked ourselves in nature with delicious food in our mouth.I would recommend everyone to visit a trip to North East it was really worth it..
