After considering what religion is and what are the differences between all religions, the next question arises what should be our attitude towards religion? On the one hand, my religion is true and final. Some people seem to have a one-sided view that the religion should be followed as it is by tradition with the finer details. On the other hand, there are those who hold the extreme secular view that 'any religion is based on superstition and the religion as a whole is discarded' and that the only way to be completely secular is to embrace the supremacy of one's religion. While it may seem for a moment that one of these secular views may be right in principle, it is not at all feasible to implement it as such. Especially in a country like India - where people of different religious denominations live together and some non-religious people or groups of people try to create a different ideology from their own ideology - extreme sectarianism or extreme secularism is not affordable. There should be exchange of ideas, discussion, introspection and healing between these different sects and ideologies. There should be an attempt to find the basic similarities found in all religions. If we take any two religions, they have different beliefs, myths, religious rituals, rituals, rituals and religious traditions. If we focus only on this difference, then people are also divided on the basis of religion, and the discrimination between them increases. But religion is basically an institution created by human beings and for the fulfillment of some basic human, spiritual and social needs. Therefore, there is some basic similarity and harmony in all religions.
(1) In every religion, there is something 'ultimate goal' in front of man. That is the ideal condition of a human being. Although this ideal state has been given different names like Moksha, Nirvana, Swarga, Vaikuntha 'in different religions, it still includes the idea of' despair of sorrows' in one way or another.
(2) For the fulfillment of this goal, although different types of rituals, ways of worship, rituals are stated in different religions, two things are the same in those paths of salvation.
(3) It contains moral values ββsuch as truth, non-violence, non-violence and condemnation of immoral acts such as untruth, violence, theft and adultery.
(4) It contains advice to control lust.
Of course, there are some major limitations to the principle of interfaith harmony. Sometimes similarities are attributed to religions even when there are no similarities in some cases. For example, Buddhism and Jainism are atheist religions, but it would not be fair to say that they are atheists just like other religions in the name of interfaith harmony. Over-simplification should sometimes be avoided in interfaith harmony. Secondly, sometimes there is a resemblance between religions, but it is not always welcome. In all religions, there is more or less gender inequality, priesthood, ritualism, and superstition. But this is not a welcome thing. That is to say, there should be a connection between interfaith harmony and theology.
