Please stop trying to always hold all the luggage including your own. We can pack our bags, we know how much we can carry and we will ask for your help if we need it.
Please stop trying to impress us by acting like nothing can hurt you, like you are proving something by being able to hold your drink or that we will think less of you if you lose in that stupid push-up competition with your friend.
Please stop trying to shower us with gifts and pay for all our meals together, we both are able to pay for our own meals. The occasional birthday gift is fine but we'd rather want you to be more responsible then extravagant.
Please stop not accepting our help when you actually need it. We are allowed to lend you a sweater or jacket to, you know. But most of all please stop making it so difficult for us to be able to be close to you. You might hug us but we know we are at arms length when it comes to you expressing how you feel.
Why is it so hard for you to understand that what you feel, what you do, who you are, matters to us. We open you up to you with our innermost feelings. We tell you things we might not have even told our best friends. We show you everything that we are made up of, because we want the same in return.
We want someone who is more than just a stone wall that we constantly need to break down to enter. We want someone who is willing to let us help them when they need a shoulder, we want someone we can care for in return. And we know you mean well, we know you've been told that accepting help from us should hurt your ego because you are supposed to hold up mountains so that we can cross the road, but you do know that we know that you are not superhuman, right? We know that there will obviously be something that brings you down.
All we want is for you to stop “acting like a man” and just be a human whom we can look out for as well. Just let us to be equal partners for once and maybe we can make this journey easier for you, just like you make it for us.
Stop taking all the pressure, we can handle it too.
