My Heart Asks "What Went Wrong?"

Last night, I went to the cafe where we accidentally ended up on our first date and i could see us sitting on the table by the window. I could hear how you were tapping your fingers on the table out of nervousness and I had a shy smile on my face. We were both awkward and didn't know what we were really doing, I remember thinking the colour of your shirt was too loud for my liking but more than that, I wanted to know the story behind why your smile radiated rays of grey sadness. Like two kids meeting for the first time and bonding over crayons and cartoons, we slowly opened up towards each other like two strangers carrying grief and sorrow in their hearts waiting for a pit stop to taste some love. You made me happy and it felt strange, but even when my mind was screaming at me to not hold your hand, my heart gave in to the warmth. You and I were different yet similar in so many ways that being with you would make my insecurities weak and my soul match the colour of your shirt, a bright yellow. But some people are really unlucky in love and life and no matter how many times they try to heal their wounds, they keep getting broken. It has been two months and i still don't know what to answer every time my heart asks, “what went wrong?” Because with you, everything always felt right. So, like all those lovers who couldn't get a happy ending, I would say that we were just soulmates who met at the wrong time.

When I was leaving the cafe, I remembered how we spoke about sticking together until the right time comes. It is 3 am now, your favorite song is playing and all I want to do is call you to hear you say my name for one last time until the right time comes.

Breathe. Everything is working itself out for your best interest. When you feel as if your outer world is falling apart- don't give up, simply adjust your inner world and allow it to reflect what you experience on the outside. You're going to be more than okay soon, just you see. Trust yourself.

Thank you for reading and supporting. See you soon in the next blog. Have a fantastic day ahead!
