Dear ‘grown-ups’,

Yes, the word in air-quotes and of course, I am staring at you. The ones who have been forced to grow old too soon. The ones who have been loaded with so many responsibilities and put in circumstances that have nothing to do with their talents and capabilities. The ones who have had to compete with their neighbour's children and sisters and cousins and nieces and nephews, literally anyone in their surroundings. Even when you could probably outshine everyone of them if they were players in your game, but they are not and that's just not the way the society thinks, you are good only if you are good at some specific things.

To the ones who have been made to feel like they don't deserve the air they breathe because they are recalled everyday about how they will never amount to anything. To everyone who just wants to break free, take this day, may be run away, I mean you are imposed to act like an adult so why not play their game to your advantage and just see how this turns out.

Find a space that makes all these societal burdens disappear from your head, hangout with your close people, or go to a book store, pick up something you have never read before, or two or three, profess like you are free even if it's for little while, act like a child that you have caged inside. The one who is allowed to make mistakes, the one who is allowed to let their imagination run wild, the one who is allowed to be eager to ask questions that would make another adult violent, ask so many that they give up, they tell you to shut up and then ask some more. 

There is so much to unlearn too, so many corners to lighten up, so many secrets to solve and you will never do that if you allow yourself to become is what others want. The child in you isn't you are enemy like they want you to believe, but the source of unbridled thoughts and infinity. So may be you are a grown-up on the outside, but take this day to let the kid in you break free.

And maybe you will look back on today, on who you permit yourself to be and realise there's more to life than senseless old rules and checklists and living a life that you have let other decide, for you.
