I have been thinking a lot about how some things affect us so much more than others. And I keep wondering why we let them affect us so much. Why?
Why we let people become so important that what would have been small inactions on their part create a domino effect on us such that we feel that our whole belief is shattering. Now when I look back I should have seen this, I should have seen this coming.
You know how will you believe that there are some people, this tiny smallest group of people who will never hurt you, who know what might trigger you, who know what you have been through and who would stand by you, because you would have done the same and more for them.
It's an Earth shattering feeling when those are the same ones who decide to put you through it all over again, who make a mockery of your feelings because you decided that you could have trust in them blindly, because you thought their apology means something to you, or may be because you have decided to believe in them, when they said how you felt was not such a big deal because you thought they were trying to make you feel better, they were casual about it then and they are casual about it now and you never understood that it wasn't for you, they actually didn't care.
They didn't care how you felt then, and they don't care now because really, you didn't even cross their mind when it happened again. I guess it's extra hard for these few of us who constantly think about how your actions could affect someone else's mental peace especially the people we care about. And for what?
On days like these I wonder why I even bother, everyone has their own lives to live, their own games to play, their own happiness to earn, and may be I am just a road block or more of a broken bridge that stops them on their way to an adventure than the highway they wanted to be on.
May be it's time for the detour signs to be set out again, may be it's time for the walls to go up again, may be it's time to restart without the giant giving heart, again. I hope you all get it right!
