Unlike a love relationship, where intimacy is quiet important, love does not attach itself to certain conditions. You can love someone without needing them to keep, fix, or attach to yourself.
Love is not limited to just relationships nor defined by them. It is just one of various ways we experience love. But the love you made within yourself is reflected in your relationships. And this love clears who is good and who is not for you, which is why you can choose to love someone and choose not to be with them.
Love is a pure energy, and a relationship is an exchange of that energy. It is never taken or given but it can only be shared. And therefore, love can be felt through words and witnessed through certain actions and gestures. Nevertheless, it remains a vibrational state of being, resulting from a solo pursuit to raise own energetic frequency and emotional development.
It is common to define love through the needs and expectations - how we are treated by others and what is done for or to us are very important. But the true essence of love has nothing to do with having, experiencing, or connecting to another person.
Love lives within each of us, right? When we nurture it, it expands beyond ourselves and pours onto the people around us. Regardless of who they are, what they do to you, how they look, etc. Your love doesn't perceive any threats to its existence. If maintained, it surpasses human conditioning and limited consciousness.
When we see love as this energy greater than ourselves, we know we can exploit its unique ability to break the expectations we put on ourselves, life, and other people. Love empowers us to focus on it so that everything we do, and everyone we meet, can be touched by the love we have nurtured within.
When you become comfortable establishing and upholding your limits, you also respect the ones other people have in place. They keep you healthy, harbour trust and respect, and are essential to long-lasting, enjoyable relationships. Love for love's sake is the only there is. Embody that, and you will never be short on connection, understanding, closeness, and compassion for the world around you or within.
