For those of you who had the opportunity to pursue science in 12th grade, you all might be familiar with the subject- organic chemistry. All of us were introduced to Benzene who looked simple but never in our weirdest dreams did we imagine it to become an important aspect in the classroom of Organic Chemistry.
Benzene, one of the exciting structures in organic chemistry could be explained as a story of one among the students of a school. For the time being lets assume Benzene to be a boy. Being a simple hexagonal structure with alternative double bonds, he made sure he was present in every meeting conducted in the classroom of organic chemistry. Remember initially, benzene was a student who found it difficult to make friendship with other elements as he had a different structure. But then, he failed to give up and created his own group of like minded people and named them the aromatic substances. Now, this is exactly what one should do in their life. Form a group of your own and never feel worried about being left out.
Now, members of a group function well only if they work as a team, right? Guess what Benzene did? He joined hands with his alter ego and formed naphthalene and made people recognize their efforts as moth balls and together they formed anthracene and created dyes. As the elements in the periodic table saw Benzene's achievements, they wanted to join hands and become a part of the cool gang of the aromatic substances. Soon chlorine, oxygen and benzene became friends and created useful products. These elements who initially ignored benzene as he was cyclic soon began recognizing him as a student of the same school and worked together again.
Meanwhile, Benzene and his group had a chat with their juniors in the school- the aliphatic hydrocarbons. As a senior, he explained to them about the need to keep building a good base of like minded people i.e. structures and also help the seniors by forming bonds with the aromatic substances.
Wait, did we miss someone out in the school? Yeah! Well, what about the students who were occupied with accounting and understanding economics? As you might have already guessed, these numbers and statistics only came in contact with these structures during the sports hour and always played the part of the opposition.
Note - This is one of my initial attempts at creating an analogy with random events and things that have occurred in people's lives. So do leave your comments after reading this and let me know your views on this.
