Memories Down The Lane... (Part 3)

So, the last part introduced you all to my entry in senior school. Senior school was known to have some mean seniors who were on a lookout for fun from juniors and asking them for favours like getting them something. There were 16 girls in my dorm as of my batch and had roll numbers of which we had decided who would go to entertain or perform favours for them. Our seniors weren't very demanding but still…

They would call us at odd hours to get them stationary, do their projects, get them MP3 music and more. Narrating one such event when I was asked to get a mascara by one of my seniors, but I had the least knowledge about make up products and instead got her a kajal that too at the last moment. She was furious but could do nothing as she was getting late. Later none of her batchmates ever asked me to bring them anything😂. But coming to the part where my friends played a major role was when I was asked to do a senior's project of 50 pages within 2 days. I was on the verge of crying as she had threatened to not include me in the school T.T. team if I failed to complete her project.

Those two days, my 3 friends and I sat together and finished that senior's project. They sat with me through meals and late at night but didn't stop. Fortunately we finished in time and I got into the school T.T. team and won the tournament to get selected for nationals. There had been many more of such incidents. These times helped to forge a thick bond with my friends.

The year passed quickly and now I was in 10th. It was my board year and my last year in Welham because I would be leaving after board exams as I wanted to professionally learn Spanish from the embassy in Delhi. I didn't stop at anything to fill my bag of memories, from dancing late night in the dorm to watching horror movies while clinging in to my friends… Soon it was my T.T. tournament of the year where I was supported by all my friends and teammates. My friends back at school kept note of all it studies to help me later and my team boated my confidence. That year again I was selected in the team to play the nationals but I knew that due to board preparations I would not be able to participate, yet I was satisfied with my performance.

Sooner than I imagined, boards began and with that came stress and pressure however we hung together and passed the time. I still remember that we had illegally painted on the bathroom walls of our dorm just 2 days before our history exam and later spent fun time cleaning it. Festivals are another treasure that I gathered from school. Be it Holi, Diwali, Lohri, Eid or Christmas. We celebrated all of them, full of zeal and zest. I have had a long and beautiful journey in Welham and I left that places with tears in my eyes.

There is one person whom I have not talked about as she is more than a friend to me. To know about her follow my next update…
