Okay so if you are an Indian and you are a girl, then you must have faced some kind of assault or harassment once in your life span. In a developing country like India, a woman is unsafe even in her own house. And the real issue arises When she is terrified to reveal or speak about the things just because it's an insider or an extended family member who is threatening her in the name of getting so-called defame.
Clarifying about the harassment I am talking about is not just sexual but could be in many ways like an unusual touch or uncomfortable stare, a disrespectful Word, or something that affects you mentally.
As per records and research, 1 Woman is raped every 16 minutes in India, and talking about yearly hikes, the hike in the reported cases has increased by 63% in the year 2021 so far.
But I want to draw your attention to the fact that these are just reported cases. There could be a huge number of unreported cases just because of the fear of getting humiliated since you are a girl and in India, a girl is compared to Ma Lakshmi but treated Worse. Still in many parts of India Women are treated as inferior as compared to men.
We must be familiar with the fact that India has the least divorce rate compared to the world as per records. It is not something to be happy about but to look over because the Women of India are taught to compromise and not to be independent. A woman is taught to listen and not to speak, she is taught to tolerate but not resist. She is asked to quit and not to fulfill her dreams. She has to do every needed adjustment.
My request to you all is to speak to yourself and start asking Why? Why I am the one facing this, I don't deserve this so now stop tolerating and stop being ashamed about the things you haven't done. Stop overdoing and stop caring about society. Do What is right and good for you. It's okay to be happy, it's totally fine to treat yourself the way you deserve. It's okay to think about yourself and pamper you. It's absolutely fine to speak against the odd and something you think is wrong.
You are somehow responsible for the things happening to you so you are the only one who could correct the things accordingly, so my request to you all is to #stand against the odd.
