The best way to make your blog stand out is to write articles. After making the jump from blogging, it's a bit daunting when you find yourself writing new content each day (so much so that I decided not even go for SEO and just wrote plain old text). Even if you don't have time to devote any more of your real-life life towards creating great posts, having some idea on how good/useful one piece of written or web based article will be in terms are ranking does give an opportunity!
