Is reservation really necessary? If yes, who should get the benefit? Based on what? Caste?

According to our constitution, there should not be any discrimination based on caste, color, gender, religion, or place of birth. Then why should we accept this reservation system that curbs the rights of the citizens?

The reservation system was taken into action to bring forth all the backward communities of the country. It also made special provisions for women and children. But today, the reservation system is being misused.

Not all Lower castes are poor. Not all women are denied the right to education. Not all general caste is rich. The deserving doesn't get the opportunity to do better. And the non-deserving easily get them. It's the only thing that's holding back the country's development.

This government worries only about the number of votes they'll get. Instead of trying to run the country properly, they try to please those who vote for them. If we, the common citizens can understand the harm that the reservation system is causing, then why can't those politicians who promised to work for the country??

We got our freedom in 1945. But are we really free? No. We may look like an independent nation from the outside but from the inside, those evils of society are still prevailing.

Casteism is the cause of reservation. The same casteism, that in ancient times benefitted the so-called upper caste is now being used as a weapon against those same upper castes by the so-called lower caste. Not only them, but reservation for women is also not justified. I am a woman and I don't think being a woman makes us any less capable than we may need reservations of any kind.

So who should get the benefits of reservation? NO-ONE.

Yes, no one should be allowed to get something just because of their caste. But, I do think that provisions of some kind should be made for the needy.

They should be provided monetary aid by the government if they want to study but don't have the resources. They should be evaluated based on their performance, not birth. This will help the country develop. Youths are the pillars of this nation. If they are treated well, they will help the country grow. They won't leave the country for better opportunities abroad.

I have seen that in some buses or trains there are reserved seats for women. That should stop. Special seats should be kept for old, physically challenged, or pregnant women. But that's it.

There are numerous such examples of undeserving reservations. I am against those. We all should be. The benefit of the country should be a priority. ALWAYS!
