A Ride In A Memory Car

The clock dial showed 8.42 a .m. The time was running at the right place ,so I had to speed up because only 18 minutes left to reach my workplace ,12 km from my home. While running to the car my wife gave me a list of vegetables to be purchased. Usually i wont carry such slips rather memorising it as am very much confident in my memory. I made a quick scan over the list and came to the car, I could see two tyres which are made up of potatoes. I pulled the door handle which was a big carrot. The door opened and a stream of lemons rushed out. when i put the key in the switch a big onion was hanging in the keychain. On shifting the gear into neutral, the knob of the gear handle looked like a tomato. After starting the engine i realised the handbrake handle which was like a brinjal. i kept my hands on the steering which was made up of a drumstick. As the car headed towards the destination like a battle horse, i saw a few more items from the list. The greenchillies speedometer now showed 85. On of a sudden it started raining and the wiper is switched on. Two lentil wipers moved in synchronism cleared my way of road. On the road i saw a pedestrian with a pot belly just like a pumpkin. At the college junction a black bike which passed by looked just like a bottle of soya sause. i was surprised to see mangoes hanging all over the main gate. I parked my car near to a  coconut tree full of coconuts. The attendance register on the table of HOD's room reminded me of my being on time. I wished happy birthday to my HOD and he gave me a piece of cake and that was the last item in the list. Then i crumbled the list and threw it in the waste basket.

In the evening I went to the grocery shop. The shopkeeper asked me for the list of items. Then i retraced all my journey from home to college ,starting from the potato tyres ,the carrot door handle ,overflowing lemons ,onion key chain, tomato gear knob ,brinjal brake handle, drumstick steering wheel, greenchilly needle of speedometer, lentil wipers, pumpkin belly, soyasause bike, mango gate ,coconut tree and finally the cake. i was so proud to see me remembering all the items in the list and that too in the proper order. Here i have used the memory technique like link and peg system , which are helpful in memorising different items, names, numbers, faces etc. i was exposed in the wonderful world of memory power and realised the tremendus power of the brain after reading the book how to develop a super memory power by Harry Loraine. I would like to recommend you certain other book for the references.

1. PAGE A MINUTE MEMORY BOOK BY ‘HARRY LORAINE’ 2. DYNAMIC MEMORY METHODS BY ‘BISHVAROOP ROY CHOWDARY’ 3. SUPER BRAIN BY CAROL VORDERMAN'.

Let me conclude with a famous quote of Harry Loraine, “there is no memory like poor memory, but trained and untrained memory”

If you want to buy vegetables next time you need not buy a new car, but modify your car with extra fittings from mom's vegetables list.
