Friends is a popular American sitcom which aired from 1994 to 2004 and is still popular among many, especially the teenagers. In India it enjoys the same viewership as it does around the globe and it has been the case for the last two and half decades. The story revolves around the lives of six friends and how they deal with their problems related to family, jobs and relationships. The show starring David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt Le Blanc, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox has 10 seasons with 236 episodes in total.
The storyline is such that it forces you to portray variety of emotions. But I can assure you that when you are feeling low, the show will be enough to lift up your mood. In my opinion, there is no single episode which won't make you laugh or make you feel bored. In the starting I was a little wary to start watching this show, even though my friends reassured me that it wasn't a waste of time. To be honest on watching the first episode my wariness didn't go away, I felt like the show was over hyped. But as we as say that don't judge a book by its cover, the same way I thought it was wrong of me to judge an entire series based on one episode. So last year with the start of lockdown, as I had nothing much to do I gave it a shot and boy was I wrong! With more and more episodes I grew addicted to it. Every episode taught me something, but most importantly it taught me the importance of friends in my life. I am not exaggerating when I say it helped me escape the sad reality to a large extent. And the fact that we weren't able to meet our friends made it more enticing, it was as if I was one of them and was experiencing everything first hand. Even now, when we cousins meet for a night stay it is on our watchlist.
Apart from the hilarious events it also address some important topics like surrogacy and infertility. It was even the first show to air a lesbian wedding on the television. This may sound irrelevant now but in those days it was a big deal.
I hope you watch this show at least once in your life and if you already have do comment your views on the same😊
