As always matrilineal people do live in their proud mother's ancestoral place. As always it is a beautiful day with soothing sounds of nature and birds chirping, there in not so corner place stood a elementary school girl with hand full of pebbles from the inside of that mansion someone called out “sreemathiiiiiii”
Modern day has changed Indians lifestyle totally drastically. God.. the ancestors have survived and sacrificed to give a life to the unborn descendent like us which they wished is a way of showing love and care.
Sree yeah sreemathiiiiiii ran inside throwing all her pebbles outside swiftly and just in a minute came back so she could resume her play while passing through the door to outside she got hit on the door and fell with seizures.
Her mother's cousin came out with maternal uncle where they heard the “thud” sound and a “aah” sound. Omg! “My child thangam” seeing her seizures with foam in her mouth coming out, took a metal key(zinc) made her hold tightly to see getting better. (Yeah too many “” this)
This maybe like 3rd time encountering fits while she get into hitted by something. She was given her favorite avil (poha/flattened rice/rice flakes) adding “refined sugar” with some water with it. Later she took her little sister in her hands and sat on the ground under a tree happily.
Later she ate the afternoon food by herself since her childhood, thangam aka sree/sreemathi was asked to eat little more but denied by herself who always loved bakes (complete junks) and super sugary toffees.
Thangam loved all her people of her ancestoral home later that evening she got ready for the daily routine of namam cholal or namam jebikya (reciting mantras of Hindus) in the kavu of her ancestoral home. (Getting ready is making you again fresh and clean by bathing only your body at evening wearing another set of clean cloths)
Her mother who remarried because her 1st husband died when she was infant, later married a guy whom she had another daughter (thangam's half sister) later having a half sister thangam's step father died.
She always cared for her little sister feed her and played with her all day, maternal uncle is that person who she and her mother can dependent on. For God's sake her maternal uncle is a kind and empathetic person.
Growing up thangam was not taken care properly like feeding good healthy foods.
To be continued…
