It was 1975 and winters had started in Delhi. It is believed that many foreign tourists used to visit Delhi at that time. One of them was Sweden's Charlotte Vaughan. Charlotte Vaughan had heard about India since childhood and always wanted to visit here. She was passing through Connaught Place in Delhi one day in the midst of her Bharat Darshan. There he heard about
a painter making a sketch in 10 minutes, so thought why not try it once.
Mahanandia made his sketch in 10 minutes but he did not like it. She gave a second chance and said that she would come again the next day. The fate of Mahanandiya was not special even on the next day. Again Charlotte didn't like the sketch. Charlotte may not have liked the sketch, but on the other hand, Mahanandiya definitely liked Charlotte.
He realized at first sight that Charlotte was the same girl his mother used to talk about. When he asked Charlotte some questions, he himself was surprised to hear their answers. Mahanandia was not able to raise enough money to buy tickets to Sweden. However, in the meantime, his heart gave voice and he thought that he would live in harmony with his love. Even after many efforts, Mahanandia could not arrange plane tickets. After this he thought that he would travel on a bicycle to Sweden. He sold everything he had for this and bought a cycle. He had only $80 in his pocket and a bicycle with him. With this he had to cover a route of about 4000 miles.
His journey started on 22 January 1977. He had thought that he had to cycle for about 70 kilometers a day so that he could reach Sweden on time. In this journey, he had to reach Europe through many countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey.
After that he started his journey. Luck was also supporting him in this work. He would make 'paintings' of people on the way, which would have given him some money, food or a place to live. In this way he kept on moving forward. While cycling, Mahanandiaa even got blisters on her feet, but it did not make any difference to her. He would do anything to meet his love.
Mahanandia did not cycle the whole time. At many places, they also took lifts from truck drivers. This made his journey a little easier. After about five months of hard work, Mahanandiaa could reach Charlotte's house in Sweden. When he met Charlotte as soon as he reached here, both of them were filled with hearts. Even though the bodies of both were different from each other, but their hearts were close to each other.
