Today we talk about women empowerment but according to me women doesn't need empowerment ……she is  empowered from her birth. The word empowering women doesn't make sense for her . The pain during the delivery of baby is the second most pain that a human can bear …first one is the live burning of a human .women is empowered yes uh can just give her a chance to show her potential . …here I am going to share a true story of a heroin of early nineties

In Travancore (southern India) there is a village named Cherthala . Nangeli an ezhava women lived there with her husband .there used to be a provision of paying breast tax by the lower casts people to the king . Uncovering one's breast was revered as a symbolic token of homage from lower casts towards the upper casts. And the tax was supposedly assessed in proportion to the size of their breast. Nangeli also belongs to the lower casts but she revolted against this inhumane provision and denied to pay this tax . Once when Village officer came to survey her breast and collect tax . She denied and asked him to go back . When the officer compelled her to pay the breast tax she chopped off her breast and presented them to him in plantain leaf. Due to excess loss of blood Nangeli died . It is said her husband Chirukanda seeing her mutilated body was overwhelmed by Greif and jumped into her funeral .It is said to be the first male sati .

After this the other people of her community revolted against this inhumane provision and soon After this the breast  tax system was supposedly annulled in Travancore .

Today the place where Nangeli lived had came to be known as Mulachiparambu. And Nangeli is worshipped as goddess by the people of that region .

Can uh imagine a woman can't cover her breast why just because she belongs to a particular part of society how inhumane thought was this .Nangeli was the one who revolted . Who fight for her right . However she lost her life but yes she gave a new life to the so many women of her community .

So this was the story a real heroin from our history . Remember if uh are right just stay with it .
