Hey Everyone , Hope you all are enjoying your best health .
So I met this person (Lets name her Ms X) one day who was very annoyed because some co-worker kept on ranting about how her weekend was a complete packed schedule and she could not relax at all even after the week prior was very exhausting in terms of office work . Ms X was pretty annoyed by the fact that she had to listen to her co-worker's problems all day and she believed it created some negative vibe around her.
Many people have this perception that if someone tells you or cries about their problems in front of you it creates a negative environment. No . This is not true at all. If a person speaks about what bothers them, it becomes easier for them to deal with it , and you listening to it will not effect your mental health rather you will be someone who is helping a person to avoid problems like depression.
When such views were expressed to Ms X , all she wanted to say was - β I have my problems take care of , why should I bother about someone else's issues ." I was not shocked to hear this but see it is just human empathy and compassion towards one another that can make this world a beautiful place to live in. The least one can do is listen to another person tell his/her issues.
Another question people often ask is he/she should be aware that they do not care for them and hence should not talk about their life miseries with them. Ms X had to listen about a bad weekend , that is all . In today's time there are people with huge huge problems and issues . The story of Ms X is just an example, there are people who cry out in front of so called friends, co-workers , parents and get lashed back at for ruining their evening or wasting their time. But please understand it might be a possibility that they do not have someone who would listen to them.
Also , to the people who want to speak to someone , who are looking for someone who would listen, please look for a person who cares about you. They will be willing to listen to your problems and issues and even might provide with some solutions . If you cannot find somebody who would do this for you , keep a journal. All you need to do is take it out , do not keep your frustrations inside.
