The Digital payments

This is a policy that all Indian banks have come up with to promote digital payments. The Unified Payment Interface (UPI) was launched by the Reserve Bank of India in 2016. National Payments Corporation of India has been set up specially for this purpose. In the first year of UPI's implementation, the reception it received was limited. If card payments were 36 percent, UPI would have been 6 percent. In five years' time - that is, by 2021, UPI's share has increased to 63 percent, while card payments have fallen to 9 percent. The customer directly in his account without the involvement of a third party between the customer and the bank This arrangement of sending money from shopper's account to shopkeeper's account is very convenient and has become very popular in a very short time. If you look at UPI as a platform, no other financial institution has recorded as much growth as it has so far. Within three years of its launch, 10 crore users have joined. More than one hundred crore transactions were done. That growth has continued at an unprecedented rate, registering a growth of 427 percent in the last two and a half years. 96 percent of all digital payments are made through UPI. Recently introduced 'UPI Lite' scheme for payments under Rs.200 in areas with low internet speed. This will bring UPI to more remote areas Penetration is possible. Not only in the country, now this system is available in other countries as well.

When going abroad, there is no need to carry money and convert it into the currency of the respective countries. For UPI transactions domestically and NPCI abroad. It started another company named 'NPCI International Payments Limited'. This organization negotiates and makes agreements with the respective countries. It provides them with the technology they have developed. Apart from neighboring countries like Nepal and Bhutan, Europe, Arab countries, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong, South Korea and other countries accept UPI. You can return comfortably by making phone payments in these countries without working with cash.

Foreign markets have always followed the digital payment system. But there it is limited to transactions between consumers and shopkeepers only. Apart from that, UPI has the facility to connect and use various apps for transactions between people. The management of Google Pay, which is the second UPI app in the country, liked it so much that it recommended that it should be made in America as well.
