GOG3 STORY-
On the planet Knowhere, the Guardians of the Galaxy are living happily until Adam (Will Poulter), who was a creation of Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki), the Golden High Priestess of the Sovereign, assaults them in retaliation. In order to protect Rocket (Bradley Cooper) from High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), who created the talking raccoon, after he sustained serious injuries during the fight, his friends set out on a quest. Why did Rocket and his team come under attack from High Evolution? How well did the Guardians of the Galaxy manage to save Rocket's life? Is saving Rocket the team's only goal? All the solutions are in the film.
POSITIVE CONSEQUENCE-
The emotional history of Rocket makes Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 the best film in the series for those who have seen the first two. Even though the plot is straightforward, the narration keeps the viewer interested until the very end.
In the opening 10 minutes of the film, director James Gunn dives right into the primary plot. He tells the story in an interesting and powerful manner.
The movie's emotional aspect works out great, especially when it focuses on Rocket Racoon's origin story. Additionally, Vin Diesel (Groot), Dave Bautista (Drax), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Karen Gillan (Nebula), and Chris Pratt (Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord) all give outstanding performances.
Besides the emotional complexity, Drax's and Mantis's personas also offer some comic relief through their interactions and speak in addition to the emotional depth. The film's vibrant aesthetics are astounding.
Both OrgoCorp's and Counter-Earth's worlds and their inhabitants are out of the ordinary. The combat on Counter-Earth's camera work is especially impressive, and the action sequences are well-designed. The fights are even more stunning when they are filmed in slow motion.
NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCE-
While the script, direction, and acting are all excellent, some aspects of the final edition of the GOTG series leave the audience perplexed and full of concerns.
James Gunn's intention was to portray who Rocket is and how he matures. Rocket is discovered to be a genius by the evil High Evolutionary in one incident. When the plot is all about Rocket, James Gunn should have presented a visual example to emphasise that the raccoon is very intelligent in comparison to other creatures on Earth.
Furthermore, a more accurate depiction of High Evolutionary's malicious character would have helped the spectator comprehend how powerful he is. The sequences between Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) aren't very memorable, and anyone hoping for a romantic reunion will be disappointed.
The filmmakers should have revealed how Groot and Rocket became friends before meeting the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy. If their past had been explored, the film would have been even more heart breaking.
TECHNICAL PROSPECTS-
As pointed out earlier, James Gunn directs the picture admirably, making it the greatest of the three installments. All of the camera work, images, and background music are fantastic and visually amazing. The editing may have been enhanced by removing some of the extraneous OrgoCorp sequences. The production design is likewise excellent, and the film's richness is visible on the big screen.
FINER POINTS-
Ultimately, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a superhero film that focuses on emotion rather than action. James Gunn gives the series a fitting send-off, while Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, and Karen Gillan all give strong performances. Despite the simplistic plot and some unnecessary slowness, everyone who appreciates superheroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise should see this film this weekend.
