HARD work entails doing the things that must be done to get to where you want to go, even if doing so is unpleasant and does not make you happy right now. SMART is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time. Applying these factors to workplace goals can aid in their realization and achievement.
I believe that Smart Work is a talent and that Hard Work is a virtue. I'm not advocating for stupidity here—working hard does not imply not using one's intelligence. Both are critical. Hard effort, on the other hand, is more basic. This is because it is more comprehensive than clever work, implying that everyone, regardless of IQ or skill, may contribute hard work and commitment. That is why hard effort is always rewarded more, even if Smart work appears to be more attractive.
Smartness is conditional and varies from situation to case. I may be qualified for something and be able to develop Smarter methods to complete tasks in that area of expertise. A Smart advocate, for example, may not be a Smart laptop user. She can, however, work hard to acquire talents and become proficient in them. Yes, I get what you're saying. She might be able to employ a PA who can assist her. Again, she will have more time to devote to serving clients – and she will be able to taste perfection!
One thing I despise is those who believe that since they are Smart, they do not need to work hard. That is incorrect and may lead to disaster in the future. In a team, I'd rather have a guy who can work hard but isn't brilliant than a "clever" who doesn't want to work hard because he can be led. However, a so-called brilliant person who is unwilling to work hard is a disaster in the team!
There is certain terminology to explain both of these phenomena, which are as follows: -
The most significant distinction between hard effort and Smart work is one of planning. Whatever you undertake, without the correct strategy or preparation, your chances of success will always be poor. The planning should be based on the circumstances on the ground. The main issue now is that we devise plans without fully comprehending the circumstance. When we properly recognize the circumstance, it brings clarity to our thoughts, which boosts our confidence and leads to higher success.
You must determine the simplest solution to a certain situation. Hard work is unconcerned about this. Smart Work, on the other hand, may create a strategy for dealing with a tough situation calmly. Indolence and hard work are no longer in the same category. Mr. Bill Gates, one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time, once stated that- I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job. Because he will find an easy way to do it.
Working hard allows you to tackle the immediate difficulties in your life while ignoring the underlying causes. Smart Work assists you in locating the cause of the problem and removing it.
Hard work and Smart Work lead you in quite different directions. Assume there are two highways, one narrow and one thousand times wider than the preceding one. Now, a large number of people are battling and battling to overcome one another. However, the huge road is naked since no one is aware of its existence. Hard Work puts you down a limited path, while smart work takes you down a wider one.
Let me illustrate with an example.

So, Hard Work and Smart Work are not mutually incompatible, and I believe that Hard Work, along with solid brain application, is a must-have for excellence.
