2nd ODI between India and New Zealand highlights: With eight wickets remaining, India's hitters chased down a target of 109 in just over 20 overs after a relentless display from their pacers. The winning runs were made by Shubman Gill, who was unbeaten on 40 off 53 while Rohit Sharma struck 51 off 50 balls. With at least one wicket taken by each of their six bowlers, India bowled out New Zealand for 108 runs.

In India, Raipur will host the 50th ODI. It won't precisely be pouring sixes today because of the enormous borders on all sides. In the pitch report, Grand Elliot and Murali Karthik noted that the ground had a level grass cover and minor cracks. Although difficult, there is considerable bounce available, which should benefit the pacers. Dew could play a role. Overall, a great batting surface.

The commentary by Harsha Bhogle notes that his co-commentator Ravi Shastri used to sit at Rahul Dravid's spot not too long ago as the broadcast shows Dravid and his crew seated in front of a few laptops in the dressing area. Shastri responds to chuckles from Bhogle and Danny Morrison, "No laptops. Shastri then humorously continues to assert that he is unable of operating a laptop. "Phone is sufficient."

Oh, Shami hit a spectacular one-handed shot to score his second. Here, New Zealand is seeing an early collapse. Remember that in the previous game, Shami had hurt his left hand while blocking a shot in this fashion. However, because the ball was chipped back off Mitchell's bat's toe end in this instance, the shot lacked the same venom. Without having time to think, Shami instinctively extends his hand, and the ball nestles in it.

Given how tough it has been for New Zealand to score, it is a bit surprising that this is only the second match's first score. The batsmen may feel a bit relieved when they see Shardul Thakur replacing Shami after Latham makes it out of the eighth. However, they would be aware of how foolish it would be for them to assume they can now relax.

In an effort to move this short ball square, Rohit shuffles across. After the seam strikes the pitch and raps him on the pads, it doesn't bounce as much. There is no challenge to the umpire's decision. When the audience realises they will be able to watch Virat Kohli bat, they break into a brief hush before cheering once more.
