2nd T20 match between Australia and India highlights: In a rain-delayed second T20I here on Friday, India defeated Australia by six wickets to even the series at 1-1. Rohit Sharma demonstrated his six-hitting skills with an unbeaten 46 after Axar Patel claimed two wickets in a blistering delivery. The match was shortened to eight overs each side due to a damp ground, and the India skipper single-handedly assisted India in chasing down a target of 91 with four balls to spare.
Prior to it, Matthew Wade led Australia to a score of 90 for five with an undefeated 20-ball 43. In a game that was delayed by two and a half hours, Wade struck four boundaries and three huge sixes, all in the penultimate over off Harshal Patel (0/32) while skipper Aaron Finch hit 31 off 15 after Rohit called Australia to bat.
The first ball Jasprit Bumrah bowled after his comeback showed rust. The excellent old loosener that has all but disappeared from the game was slow and wide. Bumrah was shocked by himself since he almost ever displays such vehemence against himself. However, as the race went on, he quickly gained momentum and the speed and accuracy began to favour him. He was burning on sixth gear by the time he reached the final ball. The last ball of the over was a gem; it was thrown from outside the crease and continued scuffling cruelly into Finch's knees until finding its resting spot at the base of the leg-stump.
Belted into the crowd over midwicket with a slower short ball. a six was scored on a high full toss that was thrown outside of the box. Another short delivery that is slower, a cosy pull across a square leg. In the 19th over of Harshal Patel, Matthew Wade sang his finisher's song. Wade completes with 43 points on 20 attempts.
"Rohit tried to convince me that the bowler would act in this way, but I already had preparations. Being an effective middle order batter is important. Hitting the winning run feels wonderful. It was great to see Bumrah return. Ro with the bat and Axar with the ball stood out. We must continue the momentum. A decent score is 1-1. You desire to engage in such crunch games. But more significantly, we are pleased that we were able to entertain the crowd without causing any harm."
Early in the seventh over, as he chose a slower ball from Pat Cummins while on the back foot, Hardik Pandya appeared to be in complete control. But on the penultimate delivery, the latter outperforms him with a slower one. Another boundary from Rohit Sharma brings the over to a close. thirteen runs off an over. India needs eight runs to win with six deliveries left to play.
