Story :

When a serial killer launches an attack in Mumbai, it is shocking. His victims are movie critics. He starts killing them one by one for bizarre reasons. A constable named Aravind Mathur arrives to investigate the scene (Sunny Deol). On the other hand, there is a distinct love story arc involving these killings between journalist Nila Menon and Danny (Dulquer Salmaan) (Shreya Dhanwantary). Who is the murderer? Plus Points :

We're shocked by Dulquer Salman in his new role. He continually reinvents himself, and he does the same with Chup. The Mallu hero excels in his dark part and does so with panache. He delivers conversation with precision and has a powerful presence.

Sunny Deol makes a long-overdue reappearance. He adds a lot of dimension to the movie and is fantastic as a police officer. Pooja Bhatt receives a cool part and performs admirably. Shreya Dhanwantary plays a crucial part and does a good job in it.

The plot device of assassinating movie reviewers in exchange for their evaluations of the movies offers the audience a fresh perspective. It appears good how the police are handling the mystery investigation. One of the most notable aspects is the compelling script by R. Balki. The inclusion of Guru Dutt's Kagaz ke Phool in the overall story is a first.

Minus Points :

The difficulty arises in the second part when the inquiry gets a little too simple. Up to that point, police-related incidents are presented in a fairly realistic manner. But as the movie nears its conclusion, the dots are neatly connected.

It would have been better to make the killer and police play a more dramatic game of cat and mouse. The movie contains graphic carnage, thus it might not be appropriate for all audiences.

Technical Aspects :

The main strengths of the movie are its soundtrack and BGM. It's amazing how Guru Dutt's songs and bits from these big songs are incorporated in the BGM. Due of the captivating imagery, the thriller has an intense premise and harsh visuals. The editing is excellent, and the dialogue is fantastic.
