One human psychology that I have understood well is that they do not like to be sermonized. It is not wrong, everybody has their own perspective and what may apply to one may not be of much use to other. So, I would not like to tell others “how to keep themselves motivated" rather I would just like to mention how I keep myself motivated.
Friends, in today's digital world if you want you can just hit a button on YouTube and listen to great motivation videos of many great speakers, both Indian and International speakers. They are really good and fill us with renewed enthusiasm and energy. But the problem is that with time the effect of their speech recedes with time and after sometime they remain somewhere in our subconscious mind and not in our conscious mind. May be at many times the subconscious mind may indict us to act in a particular way but our conscious mind has to adjust to many practical situations and so, we have to compromise with many things including the command of our subconscious mind.
After many debacles in life, I was really shattered, there was every chance of going into depression and than blaming others and destiny for all my troubles. Fortunately, yes, I would tell it fortunately I had to support my family. My son and daughter were too young and I could not break the faith that my wife had in me. All of them strongly believed that I can set things right again. So, this became my prime responsibility as I could not fail them. I had to prove them right, if not myself right. This became a great source of inspiration and motivation to me. Even today whenever I feel depressed or tiresome, the moment I remember about them or the dreams that my parents had for me. The great love that my sisters and friends ushered on me, I automatically get motivated and startworking with new energy and enthusiasm.
So, friends one lesson that I learnt from my life is that motivation cannot be from some outside source, it should be from within. Once the motivation is from within then we always stay focused and chances of failure is least. What I feel is that there can be no greater motivation than accomplishing our responsibilities in the true sense. For example, if one wished that his family is to be sustained with only two square meals a day then the person will be contented with a small job and will have no more motivation. But if the person thinks that he has to provide the best for his loved one then he or she will become a Dhiru Bhai Ambani or Narayan Murthy or a Kiran Majumdar shaw, who have scaled such great heights which may seem to be only a dream to others.
So, friends this is what I have understood about motivation in life. You can give it a try who knows it might work for you too.
