Last year I happened to meet a old couple. They were married for forty years and their love and understanding for each other made me curious about them. So I talked to them separately and tried to understand their thoughts about each other. I was quite surprised at their candy talks and the way they revealed their lives and love for each other. In this blog I have tried to summarise their love and feelings for each other through three poems. First is the woman, second - the man and finally my way of understanding their love.

                                                     The Woman

The early days were when he blew me off my feet,

       Every moment, I was eager for him to meet.

Both from his heart and his spell-bound physique

        He was nothing less than majestic.

Time passed and we had to go by our ways

        I had the family, he had many bills to pay,

It is not that we lost the love or did not meet,

       All that we forgot was each other to greet.

Today the times have changed again

     We are together, and understand each other's pain.

We lost time, but not love in pursuit of duty,

That is what we call love and life's beauty.

                                            The Man

She was greater than the spring time rose,

        At her every glance she made me froze.

Day and night just I dreamt of her,

        For me she was the moon and she was the star.

Somewhere on the way, some thing went wrong

        Crept in a forgetfulness, to whom and where I belong.

She bore that brunt, and I had my way

        Fortunately, after the grey night came back the bright day.

Now here we are, together and happy

        I don't want to lose her, don't want to be sloppy.

Life has taught me what to deserve 

       Not fame or name, but my beloved's love.

                           My Understanding of Their Life and Love

In our life, we go through many stages 

       Similarly love too has many phases 

Both need time and both demand our respect

        Love and life both call us to introspect.

Love of the couple is not a one off case.

       We all are the same, just need to have a look at our face.

Love beckons us only when there is scarcity

       It need to be preserved with nothing but simplicity.

Life will always bring new ups and downs

      You may need to move from towns to towns

Never forget that there is someone you have loved

      He or she is the one whom you can call your beloved.
