"The One"- The Meet After Months

The sun shined more brightly that day as if it knew Kathy was coming back home. It’s been 9 months since Eric and Kathy have been apart. Many stories to be said, so much love to give, so many letters to give her, which he wrote when he missed her. They were going to have ‘Katric time’ for the next ten days as she promised him, just him and her and their own small world. The network was so poor for Eric to contact her, but he waited this 9 whole months to have those 10days time with her.

They have been together for 3 years, which was pretty enough for Eric to realize Kathy was ‘THE ONE.’ He missed her more when she was away; he missed her smell, her mischievous little eyes, the way she made him feel. He even cried when she left for Dallas, but her promise did keep him going.

He couldn't sleep the previous night for he was thinking about her. Did she get any taller? He thought. Anyway seeing her after some time made him feel excited and nervous at the same time. He was sure that she would be the happiest to see him. In between the thoughts, he finally dozed off. He dreamt of him and her flying in the pink sky where candies and lollipops had wings.

The clock cried tick-tock; he was all suit up to bring her home. He waited eagerly in front of the airport. He was anxious, ‘did she change?’, ‘did she find someone new there?’, ‘will she forget about them?’, ‘will she be excited as him to see her?’ All these questions queued up above his head like a tiara and started circulating above his head.

It was time; the door opened and closed, his eyes scanned for Kathy. After 10 minutes, there she was, with his daddy. As soon as she saw him, she started to jump up and down. Daddy went on his knees and released her leash. She ran to Eric and jumped into his arms.

“Bow-wow…”

“I know… I missed you too.” He said while Kathy was busy telling him how much she missed him.

She wagged her tail, sticking her tongue out, jumped up and down, “come on Kathy, let’s go home.”

“Bow-wow”

A four-year-old won’t get another best friend like her. That’s why it’s said, ‘Dogs are men’s best buds.’
