In ancient times education was given in the Gurukuls by the guru to the student ( princess ) if they are accepted by the guru and students stay in the gurukul till his / her study completed in the Gurukuls. Guru of the gurukuls teach them about politics, diplomacy, and fighting with swords and many weapons to have won over the other kingdom, Also how to run their homes and kingdom.
Now in the modern era, Gurukuls become schools and gurus become the teachers. School is the building having many classrooms for different classes. Classes divided into lower primary classes, upper primary classes, high and higher secondary classes.
There is a national organization that plays a vital role in developing the policies and programs called the National Council for Educational Research and Training that prepares the curriculum. Students have to learn the common curriculum. Students have to learn Three languages in India in their education is English, Hindi, and their Mother Tongue.
There are mainly three streams in the Indian Education system. Two of them are coordinated at the national level of which is most popular is CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) which is mainly for the central people children who periodically transferred from one city to another city. All the streams follow the Textbooks written and published by the NCERT.
The second most popular stream is the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) it is also central. This stream was replaced by the Cambridge Certificate of Secondary Education by All Indian Examination chairperson Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
All the examinations are conducted by these two bodies of the Education System in the Schools, Colleges, and Universities which are affiliated by these two bodies.
Each state in the country has its own Department of Education that runs the school affiliated with them with their own published Textbooks. Each state has its own Counterpart called the State Council for Educational Research and Training which purpose education strategies, Curriculum, Scheme, Methodology to the state department of education. It also follows the guideline of the NCERT.
Every state has its own department of education which is run by the Counterpart SCERT which follows NCERT here I am mainly known about our state Punjab Education department which is mainly known as the PSEB(Punjab School Education Board). In Punjab School Education Board mainly focus on the Punjabi language as their mother tongue. They also used their own published books in the Punjabi language
In old years the education system was taken to provide the knowledge to the children so they grow and develop their own country, But now the education system has also become the business for the school owners they only need the money. Only the Rich class or we can say the upper class can have the right to study in the schools, not the lower or middle-class people children. I think this scenario must be finished and every class children must have right to have education so that they can help their own country to develop.
In the end, I only say that the Education system is also becoming the corporate hubs mainly to earn the money not to provide knowledge to the children and children are becoming the customers. We must change this system.
