It becomes even more obvious that social media is overrated when you realize its harmful and unhealthy mechanics.

The distraction that smartphones pose to our own social lives is another feature that consumers sometimes overlook. Personally, I have observed friends and even myself on numerous occasions avoiding social situations in favor of skimming through their feeds or viewing quick videos. For instance, in my school, most students sit in their seats before a class session starts, checking their phones instead.
