Movie is based on the real life story which director faces
The mechanic boy named murugan was happy in his life untill the rich and high status girl enter his life. At first Muruga hesitates to accept her love because she belongs to a rich family , but later realizes his true love and say yes to her love. They know that Aishwarya's family does not agree to the marriage and decides to leave to Chennai. With the help Murugan's friend Stephen and they both are united in marriage. But Aishwarya's family won't give up so easily.
The family tracks them and arrives Chennai to meet them. But the family members says that they arranged the marriage for them in their native place and convince them to return to Madurai with them. On the way back to Madurai, the family members take the couple to the countryside where Aishwarya's relatives have gathered. They all attack Murugan brutally and Aishwarya's father wants her to remove the mangalyam tied by murugan to Aishwarya. Due to the fear that Murugan will be killed by her father , Aishwarya agrees to marry another man to save Murugan's life. Murugan was beaten brutally and sent away.A few years later, Aishwarya gets married to other boy. One day while traveling with her husband and child, Aishwarya meets Murugan, as a mentally illed begger in a traffic. Aishwarya faints and taken to a nearby hospital. Aishwarya then search Murugan and finds him sitting in the same signal. Aishwarya cried and shouted a lot at Murugan and feels guilty that he was responsible for her pathetic situation. Aishwarya's husband comes there and understands her situation and takes Murugan to a mental health care center and takes care of him as well.
The movie ends with the title card which says that it is based on true story, that the girl's husband told the director during a train ride, which stimulated director to make this movie
