The final project report has been confirmed for the urgent need of the people of Tamil Nadu to connect the Godavari Cauvery but the media and politicians of Tamil Nadu have not opened their mouths.

Now the central government has given a plan report to implement this.

Project evaluation
The project estimate is around ₹85,000 crore. 90% will be the share of the Central Government and the rest will be the share of the State Government.

The central government has sent the project report to the concerned states following the approval of the National River Development Organization, which operates under the Central Hydropower Department.

The Godavari River originates at Trimbakeshwar in the Nashik region of Maharashtra, flows through the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and flows into the Bay of Bengal.

It is brought from Nagarjuna Sagar Dam in Telangana State to Someseela Dam in Andhra Pradesh.

Godavari water then travels through canals and pipelines to Kallanai in Tamil Nadu via Vellore.

The project covers 1,211 km and has 19 tunnels. Water travels in both the pipe and canal systems.

To be completed in five years, it is likely to start by the end of 2021.

Through this scheme, the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu will benefit, especially Tamil Nadu.

247 TMC of water is released during the days from June to October every year.

Why the neglect?
If you read the above, you will understand how big a project Godavari Cauvery Linkage is and how beneficial it is for Tamil Nadu.

However, the excitement in Telugu media is not in Tamil Nadu!

The reason is that Edappadi Palaniswami was talking about this project and the central government is going to implement it.

If the other party gets a good name, it is understandable that its rival party will be quiet.

But why is the media not reporting this?!

Although the DMK government did not give importance to this news, it is going to cooperate with this project tomorrow.

However, it is unacceptable for the media to ignore the news that Tamil Nadu itself should be celebrating.
