Modern life is full of hustle and bustle. Everyone is busy doing things, achieving targets, making plans and multi tasking to do things…
How is this helping us !!!
It's not, infact as a result there is a restlessness amongst people. The growing dissatisfaction and need for assurance reflects we are not achieving what we aim to by doing things…
So what should be done …
Shift the focus on being…
Shifting this focus means to bring all your energies to present…Now.
It's about noticing and focusing on yourself…..
What you are feeling? What you are thinking? What you want? Without being critical or judgemental.
Being Versus Doing is all about being completely in the now…it's noticing little things…taking a moment to stop…
This is what Mindfulness is about.
Mindfulness is about noticing everything in the moment. It's about learning to focus your attention in the present.
Mindfulness is about Being and not Doing.
It is about fully engaging with our surroundings and people around us.
How does being in the moment and focusing on present benefit us.
Learning to be and not do can help you become calmer, peaceful and focused.
Mindfulness is not about eliminating stress ,it is about learning to handle stress and deal with challenges more effectively.
Five minutes of mindfulness can help you lead a longer and healthier life.
How do you begin?
All you need is a timer and a quiet space.
Sit comfortably your hands resting in tour lap, set your timer to five minutes. Close your eyes and breathe slowly focusing on breathing in and breathing out…think ‘Rising’ on the in and ‘ Falling’ on the out.
Let your thoughts pass like a camera roll do not focus on them let them just be .
Continue breathing in and out, thinking rising and falling.
Once your timer goes off, gently open your eyes, smile tune in with your body, mind and feelings…strech your hands and legs.
Do this basic mindfulness meditation for five minutes a day for a week and notice how you feel.
Then slowly move up your time.
Important thing to remember is known yourself, be realistic about when and how you practice. Start small, stick to it and keep regularity and stick to it.
Over a period of time you will feel benefits like lower stress levels, ease in chronic pains, help you relate better to people around, better acceptance of self, improved memory and better immunity.
Being is about being simply, in the moment.
Next time you are too obsessed about doing things pause and focus on being in NOW….
